About Kiwanis Malaysia Academy (KMA)

In 2019, Kiwanis Khir Johari Foundation (KKJF) launched Kiwanis Malaysia Academy (KMA) an initiative to create an equitable, and an excellent education platform for all special education needs, so that all students can acquire and effectively apply the knowledge, attitudes, and skills necessary to thrive in their studies, careers and adult lives.

The Kiwanis Malaysia Academy team consists of professionals, academicians, and educationists who are volunteers and give their time to KMA and are committed in their roles and aim to enhance understanding, strengthen community education needs and impact the future of Special Education Needs in Malaysia.

Kiwanis Malaysia Academy works with parents, teachers, caregivers, activists, consultants, business owners, government ministries, and agencies to discuss the issues and challenges surrounding the area of Teaching and Learning for our children and youth with special needs.

KMA's present activities include:

  • Promoting scientific studies and research, conducting surveys and disseminating information on matters related to Special Needs.
  • Preparing relevant training programs required for Special Needs Education.
  • Offering Online Learning Platforms for both adults and children covering lifelong learning and STEM Education respectively in line with UN Sustainable Development Goal 4.
  • Organizing Youth Leadership Camps.
  • organizing Annual Special Education Needs Symposium, besides having ad-hoc conferences, workshops, or clinics whether on a global, regional, or local basis on any subject of Special Needs and Special Needs Education.
